DESCRIPTION:CILA is excited to announce our next virtual workshop on Mastering Canadian Study Permits, presented by esteemed immigration lawyers Will Tao and Laura Schemitsch, on Thursday, October 17, 2024.\n\nJoin Will and Laura for an in-depth discussion and practical workshop on successfully filing Study Permits!\nWill Tao:\nWill Tao is a Canadian Immigration and Refugee Lawyer and the founder of Heron Law Offices. With over a decade of experience, Will specializes in complex immigration matters, including refusals, inadmissibility issues, appeals, and judicial reviews. He frequently represents clients before the Immigration and Refugee Board and the Federal Court of Canada, with a focus on international students, families, and temporary foreign workers.\nWill also provides strategic advice on immigration, decolonization, and race equity to government bodies, media, educational institutions, and businesses. He is the creator of the award-winning Vancouver Immigration Blog and has taught at the University of British Columbia’s CILPP program.\nLaura Schemitsch:\nLaura Schemitsch is a Canadian Immigration and Refugee Lawyer at Heron Law Offices. She has been practicing immigration law since 2020 with a wide scope of matters and complexity. Laura’s academic work has been featured in peer-reviewed journals and prominent media outlets.
