Submitting your membership application does not guarantee membership with CILA. We review all applications to ensure eligibility. Click on the membership categories below to view the eligibility requirements.
If you do not meet eligibility requirements, you will receive a full refund of any paid membership dues. Please allow 5 to 10 business days to receive the refund.
Please note all payments to CILA are non-refundable 30 days after payment. If you have any questions, please contact info@cila.co.
Membership Eligibility
Lawyer members must:
- Be in good standing with their provincial or territorial law society in Canada, whether practising or otherwise.
- Not have outstanding disciplinary action on file with their provincial or territorial law society in Canada.
- Not be an immigration consultant, whether practising or otherwise.
Lawyers
Practicing Lawyer (More than 5 years of practice)
$450.00 / year
Practicing lawyer in good standing for more than 5 years and in active status pursuant to the laws of a Canadian province or territory.
Inclusions: 1 year membership, premium visibility on the CILA directory
Visibility: Premium – Your profile will be sorted at the top of the CILA directory. Your profile will showcase all standard information as well as your picture, your firm, and a link redirecting to your website.
Practicing Lawyer (less than 5 years of practice)
$300.00 / year
Practicing lawyer in good standing for less than 5 years and in active status pursuant to the laws of a Canadian province or territory.
Inclusions: 1 year membership, premium visibility on the CILA directory
Visibility: Premium – Your profile will be sorted at the top of the CILA directory. Your profile will showcase all standard information as well as your picture, your firm, and a link redirecting to your website.
Practicing Lawyer (more than 5 years of practice)
$300.00 / year
Practicing lawyer in good standing for more than 5 years and in active status pursuant to the laws of a Canadian province or territory.

Non-practicing lawyer previously in good standing and in active status pursuant to the laws of a Canadian province or territory

Visibility: Basic – Your profile will be sorted below the standard profiles. Your profile will show all basic information including your name, email, province and languages spoken.
Premium Upgrade for Existing CILA Members Only
$150.00

Refugee Lawyers (All Experience Levels)

Practicing lawyer in good standing who primarily practices refugee law. CILA reserves the right to request proof your practice is primarily dedicated to refugee law.
