Course Instructor

Joycna Kang, Partner at Battista Migration Law Group, CILA Board Member. She practices in the full range of immigration and refugee applications. Joycna also regularly represents clients in judicial reviews, applications for a writ of mandamus, and motions for stays of removal before the Federal Court of Canada. Joycna holds a law degree from Queen’s University’s Faculty of Law, and a bachelor of arts degree, with honours, specializing in anthropology from the University of Guelph. Since graduating in 2020, she has been developing her practice in refugee and immigration law, with a special interest in gender-related cases. Since 2023, Joycna has been an adjunct faculty member at University of Toronto’s Faculty of Law, co-instructing the Canadian Migration Law course and assisting as a mooting coach for the Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship mooting team.
