On behalf of the Canadian Refugee Lawyers Association (CARL), congratulations on the successful launch of the Canadian Immigration Lawyers Association (CILA).
We welcome your new association into the community of organizations advocating for justice and fairness in citizenship and immigration law. We are excited that you have identified as one of your key priorities advocacy on behalf of marginalized newcomers who are often vulnerable and racialized. We share your commitment to competent and ethical representation, mentorship, and coalition building with immigration, human rights, and refugee lawyer organizations.
We also look forward to your contributions to public dialogue, submissions, court interventions and test litigation, and to exploring overlapping issues of importance to our respective memberships.
