In June 2024, CILA held its Annual General Meeting, corresponded with government officials, spoke with the media, and achieved much more. The following is an update on what we did over the past month:

Thought-leadership and Stakeholder Relations

On June 11, CILA featured in a Toronto Star article on the Immigration Levels Plan 2025-2027. The following day, CILA spoke with CityNews Radio on this topic.

On June 20, CILA sent the following letter on PGWP reform to IRCC and will continue to engage with the department on this critical matter.

On June 25, CILA provided its submission to the Federal Court Rules Committee. CILA thanks Chantal Desloges for helping to coordinate this submission.

On June 26, CILA met with Member of Parliament Jenny Kwan to discuss our recommendations for IRPA reform. In addition, earlier in the month, CILA’s op-ed on IRPA reform was published in the Hill Times.

We invite you to read all the articles we released in June and thank all members for their contributions.

You are always welcome to submit new articles here. CILA thanks you in advance for your submissions.

AGM 2024

CILA held its Annual General Meeting for 2024 on June 19. We appreciate the participation of all members who were able to join. In case you missed it, Immigration Minister Marc Miller sent CILA letters of support in English and French for the AGM.

CILA will be distributing our updated by-laws and other governance materials to members shortly.
